Design Talks is a long-running series of events that are aimed at students from the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate design courses. The speakers tend to be high- profile people from industry and should be of interest to students from all creative courses. Working in partnership the challenge was to design an identity for these talks.
Our idea design direction consists of straight lines and right angles to show direction, structure and order. As the talks are aimed at aspiring students, it is used to show them direction into a creative future. Speech marks have been used in the logo to demonstrate speech and to show the brand is about design talks. The words ‘Design Talk’ have been abbreviated within the logo as it is contemporary and appeal to the target market of students.
We have used images of graffiti in the background of our posters as we feel that this is contemporary and will appeal to the young target audience. Also as they are brightly coloured they will attract the audience's attention and interest them.
